WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

1. Technique for everybody: Pivot (all levels)
Here we will focus on one of the crucial element of the tango technique, the pivot. We will go through different exercises for comfortable dissociation, balance and control of the pivot.This lesson is intended for both leaders and followers. The students do not have to register in couple.

2. Changing the dynamics: increasing the energy (intermediate/advanced)
For this lesson we have chosen a simple but attractive combination of steps that will allow us to easily increase the dynamics in our dance when the music asks for it. Although bursting with energy, the combination is still suited both for close embrace and full milongas.

3. Giro in vals (intermediate/advanced)
The beauty of vals lies in its split personality: sharp rhythmical patterns vs. flowy melodies. We will show you how to use giro to clearly express both of these ideas.

4. Followers technique: basic embellishments (all levels)
The topic of this lesson are two basic and very useful embellishments: piques and crosses. We will practice their execution, rhythmical variations, different qualities to both tango and vals. There will be plenty of exercises for quickness and precision of the feet movement, useful not only in the embellishments, but in all the elements of our dance.

5. Changing the dynamics: pausing and phrasing (all levels)
Changing the dynamics is one of the most important elements of the dance. Here we will focus on clean phrasing and choosing the right moment to pause. The lesson will be a well balanced mixture of musicality and technique.

6. Milonga: playing with the axis, playing with the music (intermediate/advanced)
In this workshop we will start with a simple repetitive combination of two elements and show how we can change and adapt them by controlling the axis. This will give us a lot of possibilities for improvisation. We will also focus on placing these elements accordingly to the music.
