Description

The weekend will include 3 Milongas with 3 DJ's
The screening of the documentary "The History of Tango 1940-1960" The Golden Years
4 workshops and private lessons.
The schedule is:

Friday: 7.30pm to 8.30pm
Screening of the documentary
“The History of Tango 1940 – 1960 The Golden Years” based on research from Gustavo’s book “The Quest for the Embrace. The History of Tango Dance 1800 – 1983 which we were privileged to host the European launch last year.
See interviews with dancers who were there in the influential years in the development of this dance.

8.30pm to midnight Milonga

Saturday
Workshop 1 2.00pm to 3.15pm
TANGO: The Art of Sharing. Sharing the axis and moving freely within the embrace.

Workshop 2 3.45pm to 5pm
VALS: Travelling turns

Free Practica 5pm to 7pm

Milonga 7.30pm to midnight

Including performance from Gustavo and Maria
Usual drinks and nibbles, and music from John Yingren Tan

Sunday
Workshop 3 12.45pm to 2pm
TANGO: Decorations vs. lead movements that look like decorations

Workshop 4 2.30pm to 3.45pm
MILONGA: Squeezing the juicy music. Change of dynamics and vocabulary.

Tea Dance 4pm to 9pm
Mainly traditional music from our resident DJ Geoff
All the usual savouries, cakes and drinks to sustain you
through to the end.
We will also be joined this weekend by
ZAPATANGO SHOES
Hand made Tango shoes for men and women

Venue for the whole weekend: Hixon Memorial Hall, High Street, Hixon, Stafford ST18 0QF

The workshops stand alone but please note these are suitable for intermediate and above. If you are unsure whether they are for you contact us
Numbers will be limited so early booking is recommended.

Workshops: £15 each
Friday evening: Film plus Milonga £10
Saturday Milonga: DJ John Tan plus performance £12
Sunday Tea Dance: DJ Geoff £10
10% discount on all payments made before 1st September

We will allocate partners for single dancers on a first come first served basis. Dancers will be asked to change partners in all the workshops.

Gustavo and Maria are also available for private lessons before, after and during the weekend please contact us for details and pricing.
