Description

The Philadelphia International Tango Festival will take place from May 19-22, 2016. Our festival has been growing and getting better every single year, and 2016 will be no exception.

We are pleased to announce an amazing group of festival instructors:
** Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne,
** Alejandro Larenas & Marisol Morales,
** Marcelo El Chino Gutierrez & Ines Muzzopappa, and
** Andres Amarilla & Meredith Klein.

And a remarkable gathering of DJs:
* Adam Ashton Hoopengardner,
* Marc Hussner,
* Jake Spatz,
* Cigdem Tanik,
* Manuk Colakyan,
* Marcelo Gutierrez &
* Dasha Khripkova.

WORKSHOP OFFERINGS will include:

** A 12-hour partners-only seminar with Gustavo & Giselle on a topic specially created for this festival, "The Turn (Giro) in Tango, and Changes of Turn Direction."

** Two open-enrollment workshops with Gustavo & Giselle, so you can study with these teachers of teachers even if you don't have a partner.

** Workshops at all levels - beginner, intermediate, and advanced - with some of the very most popular teachers who have ever come to Philadelphia - Alejandro & Marisol, Marcelo Gutierrez, and Andres Amarilla. And introducing one of the most gorgeous tangueras, who is already world-famous, but has never before taught in Philadelphia, Ines Muzzopappa.

** A four-day beginner track (no experience necessary!), which opens with a workshop given by Gustavo & Giselle. Imagine starting to learn tango for the first time with the most accomplished and respected dancers/teachers in the world!

MILONGA HIGHLIGHTS will include:

** The same GORGEOUS and HUGE venue that we used last year, Neighborhood House, located in the charming and historic Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia.

** Exhilirating DJ-ing that will make you want to dance no matter how tired you are (or how much your feet may already hurt!)

** Performances by all festival instructors, plus some special guests (like Adam & Ciko!)
.
** A special 10th anniversary reunion performance of the ever-popular Tango Cheeseballs! We can't wait to have everyone back together (including Carlos Moreno & Tova Moreno!!)

** Twenty-six hours of social dancing during five milongas and two practicas. Insane tango high: check!

** A special all-night milonga on Saturday night, back at the Philadelphia Argentine Tango School. This year's after-milonga is hosted by Marc Hussner (visiting from San Diego) and DJed by the effervescent Ciko Tanik!

We really hope you can join us for an amazing weekend of dancing, learning, reconnecting, and all-in-all tango reveling.

See you in Philly!
