ETS Spring Firbush Tango Weekend 2018
ETS Spring Firbush Tango Weekend 2018
Description
The Edinburgh Tango Society (ETS) invites you to their twenty-fourth weekend of tango and outdoor activities at the Firbush loch-side activities centre on beautiful Loch Tay.
This year's weekend is once again a "tango retreat", with practicas instead of formal classes and plenty of time for activities or relaxation.
Firbush Point is a residential centre belonging to the University of Edinburgh. It is fully catered with facilities and instruction for outdoor activities such as hillwalking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, and mountain-biking (the range of activities on offer will depend on the weather conditions and the instructors on duty). All necessary equipment is provided but none of these activities are compulsory, and the option of chilling-out is always available! There is a bar downstairs and the main dining hall provides a spectacular dancefloor for the practicas and the evening milongas. The weekend starts on Friday night and ends Sunday afternoon, and will include practicas in the afternoons, outdoor activities in the mornings and afternoons, and milongas until late.
There are spaces for 36 people, open to dancers from Scotland and to visitors from the UK and abroad. Bookings for couples and individuals can be made now. The price for this trip is £120 and covers accommodation, all meals, outdoor activities, and all dancing. Arrival before dinner 8pm Friday, departure after tea 5pm Sunday. Please contact us with any questions about travel arrangements prior to booking, as there is no public transport to or from Firbush.
Dancers of all levels are welcome. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to the requirements of maintaining a reasonable male-female balance for the milongas.
