Description

Welcome back! If you have tango experience, or you've taken our Tango Beginner's series, it's time to deepen your knowledge.

In this 6-week series we will discover in detail one basic element of tango: the "giro" or "turn".

This basic element of tango can create beautiful choreography and enable us to really improve our improvisation. We will explore together the rythm of the turn, all the possible directions in the space—which can lead to ganchos, sacadas, passing steps and sweeps.

The scope of this series is to guide the students to the discovery of one theme, from beginners to a solid intermediate level for this particular topic.

This seminar is part of a bigger program of themes that will increase your knowledge of tango in a systematic way. All seminars within the program include:

A) the "giro" or turn
B) Musicality, phrasing and rhythm
C) "Sacadas," or intercepting steps
D) Captures, sweeps, passing steps & ormaments

We will communicate dates for future series later on.

Required level: tango beginner
Target level at the end of the series: intermediate on the theme.

Start: 27 March 2016
Ends: 1 May 2016

Price: Celestine class pass
