Aberdeen Workshops And Milongas Weekend 2015

We are delighted to once again bring you the wonderful International tango stars - Jenny and Ricardo Oria to Aberdeen. There will be two days of workshops and Milongas to enjoy. This is a joint event with our tango friends John and Fiona of Tangodee.

SATURDAY 3 OCTOBER

WORKSHOPS

(1) 12.30pm to 2pm - (Beginner/Improver) Creating a real dance with simple ingredients

(2) 2.15pm to 3.45pm - (Improver/Intermediate) Vals: Rhythmical play with Corte and Cadencia

(3) 4pm to 5.30pm - (Intermediate+) Expressive legs: Ganchos and other intertwining steps

MILONGA

8pm to 12.30am Dance the night away and enjoy a performance by your workshop presenters and international tango stars - the fantastic Jenny & Ricardo. The bar will be open and an entry fee of £8 is payable on the door.



SUNDAY 4 OCTOBER

WORKSHOPS

(4) 10.30am to 12noon - (Beginner/Improver) Comfortably close: Spirals and dissociation for happy ochos

(5) 12.15pm to 1.45pm - (Improver/Intermediate) Frenos (catches) and Pasadas

(6) 2pm to 3.30pm - (Improver/Intermediate) Milonga: Rhythm, groundedness and stillness for great milonga

MINI MILONGA

4pm to 6pm Finish off the weekend and just dance! £2 payable on entry at the door (Tea, coffee and light refreshments available in the bar area of the hotel)

Workshop bookings (Workshops will be restricted to a maximum of 16 couples). You are welcome to book as an individual or as couples - although booking as a couple makes our job easier

Email your chosen workshops along with your name(s), whether leader and/or follower to tangoaberdeen@gmail.com and upon confirmation of your booking we will send you details of how to make payment

Cost of workshops £15 per workshop or £25 for two (£50 for four)

Level of dancer

BEGINNER - those who have attended classes regularly for at least 4 weeks

IMPROVER - must have a good understanding and be confident with the basics of tango*** and have attended classes on a regular basis for 6 months+

INTERMEDIATE - competent with the basics of tango***and have been dancing regularly for at least 2 years

***Balance, posture, walking, leading/following and navigating the dance floor along with the forward and backward ocho, the giro, and the cross
