ATUSA is the only national -official tango event in the USA and it represents the TANGO BUENOS AIRES DANCE WORLD CUP (MUNDIAL de TANGO de BUENOS AIRES ). ATUSA is sanctioned, validated and ruled by the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires and the Direction of the Tango Buenos Aires Festival & Dance World Cup, - the highest authorities for Argentine Tango in the world.

*ABOUT THE OFFICIAL USA TANGO CHAMPIONSHIP
 Competing couples at ATUSA Official Championship have the opportunity to shine in high level competition in front of an international renown, expert Jury Panel approved by the Tango Buenos Aires Dance World Cup Organization/Direction.

Couples competing in the Tango de Pista and in the Stage Tango categories will have the possibility to win the official champion titles, a trip package to Buenos Aires and will have the great advantage of representing the US directly at the SEMIFINAL ROUNDS of the Tango Buenos Aires Dance World Cup next August!

CATEGORIES 2020:
1.TANGO DE PISTA: Official; open to amateur & professional dancers. Residence restrictions apply.
2. STAGE TANGO: Official,- open amateur & professional dancers. Residence restrictions apply.
3.MILONGA: open to amateur & professional dancers. NO residence restrictions.
4. VALS: open to amateur & professional dancers. NO residence restrictions.
5. SALON TANGO SENIOR, open to social dancers only. No professionals allowed. Age restrictions apply. No residence restrictions.
6. SO YOU THINK YOU CAN TANGO open to social dancers only. No professionals allowed. No residence restrictions.
7. STAGE GROUPS Competition/Showcase: open to amateur dancers directed by a teacher/choreographer. No residence restrictions.

All seven categories in ATUSA Official Championship are evaluated by the Official Jury Panel evaluated and approved by the Buenos Aires Tango World Cup, and the competition is supervised by the designated Tango World Cup Auditor.
The Tango BA Dance World Cup is held in Buenos Aires in the month of August every year. The USA is represented at the semifinal rounds of the colossal Tango Buenos Aires Dance World Cup through ATUSA Official Champions !

The event will be held at the superb San Francisco Airport Marriott Hotel which is just minutes from the San Francisco International Airport and 15 miles from downtown San Francisco, offering a perfect location with a 14,000 sq. feet of open dance floor at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, which makes an outstanding venue for our milongas, competitions and workshops.
